Dhoomimal Gallery, (DMG), established in 1936 by Sh. Ram Babu Jain is the oldest contemporary art gallery in India. Dhoomimal has always been more of an institution rather than a commercial gallery, with 75 successful years of promoting contemporary Indian art. Sh. Jain’s appreciation of art throughout the years brought him into contact with various leading artists of the period, marking its reputation as the hub for contemporary art as well as a meeting place for the capital’s artists.
