CHILDREN & TEENS 2021

Since 2012 Art Dubai’s non-commercial programme includes workshops, publications and discovery tours for children and teenagers, created especially for the fair by international and UAE-based artists. The children & teens programme is designed to provide access to skills and ideas for UAE-based children and teenagers aged 5-17 with the long-term aim of encouraging young people to get involved and excel in the arts.

The A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme aims to be one of the largest and most ambitious schools and children’s programme of any art fair globally and will engage children in a programme of daily workshops throughout the duration of the fair.

NOOM PROJECT

For its inaugural edition the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme features design duo Studio Sain who will be presenting Noom Project. Children are invited to use their imagination and create an alternative living habitat on a fictional version of Earth’s Moon in Noom Project . The workshops at the Art Dubai fair will encourage children to explore ideas and imagine how a new society could be constructed through using their imagination to design and develop solutions and ‘inventions’.

Specially designed for children between the ages of 5 to 12, the bespoke workshops will invite children to explore their creativity through designing and testing models around the question: ‘how would you construct a sustainable community?’ Alongside the workshops at the fair, dedicated Teacher’s Manuals will be shared with over 120+ schools inviting students to remotely participate in the programme.

Studio Sain

Founded in 2018 by Namuun Zimmermann and Martijn Rigters, Studio Sain explores the broader subject of design from a human-centred approach, working in the fields of object design, research and education. They have developed projects and workshops for clients such as the V&A, Tate, Serpentine Galleries, Konzerthaus Wien, and M&C Saatchi while exhibiting their work internationally.
