Tashkeel is an incubator for professional visual art and design practitioners living and working in the United Arab Emirates and contributes to the country’s creative and cultural industries. It is a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design practice. Established in Dubai in 2008 by H.H. Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Tashkeel’s multi-disciplinary studios, work spaces and galleries located in both Nad Al Sheba and Al Fahidi enable production, experimentation and dialogue among practitioners and the community. All profits from its consulting and retail services are reinvested to support practitioners and public through an annual programme of professional development, community engagement, exhibitions and publications.
