Founded by Robert Bajenaru in 2019, the gallery originally operated under the name Cazul101, featuring mostly emerging but also mid-career artists. In 2025, it adopted the new name SOLO, marking a renewed focus and a refined curatorial direction. From now on, the gallery is dedicated exclusively to solo presentations by artists from around the world, fostering deeper engagements with individual practices. Based in Bucharest for the past seven years, SOLO continues to champion experimentation, dialogue, and innovation within contemporary art. In February 2026,the gallery will open a second space in Vienna, expanding its international reach and strengthening its network of artists, curators, and collectors
