Founded in 2021 by Océane Sailly, Hunna Art is a contemporary art gallery representing eleven women artists based in the Arabian Peninsula. The gallery supports artists developing cutting-edge visual languages that critically explore dominant narratives and representations. Hunna Art contributes to the Gulf’s art ecosystem by amplifying the visibility of women artists and art professionals through exhibitions, collaborations, fairs, and publications. Since its launch, the gallery has collaborated with institutions including Centre Pompidou, Soho House, Virginia Commonwealth University, Dubai Culture, Maraya Art Centre, MIA Art Collection, Foundry Downtown, Firetti Contemporary, and Raffles The Palm. Hunna Art also works with international curators and critics and supports the global development of its artists through residencies such as the Claude Monet residency in France. Initially launched online, Hunna Art organized five exhibitions in Dubai in the first half of 2022. The gallery has been featured in publications including Mathqaf, The National, and Time Out Dubai, and its artists’ works are held in prominent private and institutional collections across Europe and the Arabian Peninsula.
