PODCASTS 2015

Art Dubai’s annual week-long dedicated radio station enables audiences near and far to have unique access to the fair’s daily life. It also offers a glimpse into some of the many conversations that take place around its conception, through a variety of sound projects created by Art Dubai participants. Working with a guest presenter each year, audio content is disseminated worldwide via web-stream and podcast free for all to hear.

Art Dubai Radio ran from 2011-2016.

In 2015, Art Dubai Radio was hosted by Campus Art Dubai Core’s class of 2014-15 UAE-based artists, writers, researchers, curators and architects. Working with ideas of slowness and the construction of heritage culled from the 2014-15 Campus Art Dubai theme, set by lead tutors Uzma Z. Rizvi and Murtaza Vali, each participant contributed to the Radio programme through a range of interviews, readings, mixtapes, performances, and unique sound works.

Campus Art Dubai 3.0 was held in partnership with the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and was supported by Dubai Design District (d3).

The Dhaka Art Summit 2016 edition of Safina Radio Project explored common grounds within historical contexts, providing a cross section of origins and their interpretations, responding to the practices, curatorial premises and work on show.  For its first iteration at the opening of the Venice Biennale 2015, transitory communities were created with each journey taken on the Safina Radio Project boat, bringing focus to collective experience and targeting an investigation into how we locate ourselves and how we mediate human and historic commonality.
