For the second year at Art Dubai, 421, Abu Dhabi’s independent platform supporting emerging artists, will present a group exhibition at Art Dubai. Curated by UAE-based multidisciplinary artist and researcher Dania Al Tamimi, Biography of a Passage features artworks by eight emerging artists from the MENASA region and seeks to de-essentialize our understanding of time.
Biography of a Passage, curated by multidisciplinary artist and researcher Dania Al Tamimi and presented by Abu Dhabi’s independent platform, 421, examines the intangibility of time which defines the life of objects that tell the story of our collective experience. The exhibition will present artworks by eight emerging artists from the MENASA region to explore concepts of distorted memories and our relationship with the elements around us. The artists detangle the infinity of time and the finite bodies that pass through it using various media including found objects and natural materials from the land and sea, as well as video and sound installation.
The participating artists include Doha Aboelezz, Liane Al Ghusain, Sara Al Haddad, Dhabiya Al Rumaithi, Nasser Alzayani, Poras Dhakan, Tilika D’Souza, Victoria Parrucci, and Ayman Zedani.
