We are delighted to welcome you to the fifth edition of the Art Dubai online journal, which seeks to be a platform for dialogue and debate on pertinent art events related to artists from the Middle East and its environs. With the UAE Pavilion, ADACH Platform for Venice and Emerge: Ways of World Making by Zayed University students as adjunct exhibitions at the 53rd Venice Biennale, the Emirates took centre stage. We analyze these and other showcases of regional talent at the international art event.
We also have a focus this month on Iranian art, as political tension escalates, find a feature on the current state of the Iranian art market and visit our Project Space to see work of emerging Iranian artist Katayoun Vaziri. Read further
