Established in 2011 in Marrakech, VOICE gallery’s mission is to create exhibitions through a socially engaged and geographically aware programme that challenges orientalist perceptions of Arab art as well as the stereotypes on African art, while honoring the city’s history of trade. Led by core principles of transformation and exchange, VOICE works to create cultural dialogues reflective of Morocco’s cultural vibrancy and artistic tradition. With a focus both on local and international artists, VOICE forms networks for emerging artists to collaborate beyond the bounds of identity and cultural origins.
