Puneet Shah, founded Akara Art as an art consultancy in 2009 which expanded into a gallery for showcasing Modern and Contemporary Indian Art, in 2015. The gallery programme provided a platform to communicate his vision of the artistic expression. The purpose of the gallery is to conduct interestingly curated, intergenerational shows, blending the rich tradition of modern art with the innovation of contemporary art. With an aim to widen the range of artistic sensibilities of the viewer and the collector base, Akara Art also explores and displays the potential of young contemporary artists doing path breaking work.
