Dina Danish, An Audience in Hiding

Dina Danish’s video installation, An Audience in Hiding, was concerned with crowd dynamics and the perpetually changing architecture of Madinat Jumeirah’s Arena Hall. The work, conceived of during Danish’s three-month residency in Dubai, explores the dynamic relationship between the fair’s venue and its waves of visitors, who pour in for a variety of events throughout the year. Each time, Madinat Jumeirah morphs in terms of its layout, design and atmosphere. Inspired by sports and commentary, her work took a playful approach to analysing crowd behaviour and its relationship with architecture. Watch the video here.
