Hind Mezaina, Minaret

To mark the holy month of Ramadan, we’ve invited Art Dubai’s friends and family to send us a contribution that reflects their experiences, the month’s personal, familial nature, and also its universality. Posted every couple of days, these drawings, photos, texts and sounds — from neighbourhood images to the cannon that marks the break of fast – will hail from the four corners of the world, from Indonesia, Pakistan, China, via northern Europe and the USA, and throughout the region to our home in the UAE. We’ll alert you to a new post via Twitter and Facebook; and please do watch this space for posts. The first contribution, published tomorrow, will come from Dubai-based photographer and blogger Hind Mezaina, who has contributed to Art Dubai in many ways over the years, including as a speaker and project artist at Global Art Forum_6. Here’s a taster from Hind’s forthcoming photo series.

Mixtape: The Magazine Shop
