Old Ostadi

‘Special Ostadi’ kebab restaurant has been around for a very long time. In fact, for as long as I have been around – that’s 34 years. No small feat in a city as young as Dubai.

So when a new friend called Tulip told me that Ostadi was closing down, I was distraught.

We stopped by for dinner and the charming Ostadians informed us that new Ostadi was opening down the road, just in time for Ramadan.

Fast forward few days and I am back at new Ostadi for iftar, and it’s as cozy, quirky and welcoming as ever.

This is what Ramadan is about for me – change, however uncomfortable it may seem. You know a change would do you good.
