Statement:
My work focuses on women and children in the Middle East, mainly Lebanon, and my recent projects, which examine the Palestinian refugee camps, the veil and its meaning, and the aftermath of war, give a voice to people who have been forgotten or misunderstood. Living in both Lebanon and the US gives me a unique perspective on seeing Lebanon through the eyes on an insider who speaks the language and understands the culture and its people, but also an outsider who can still get intrigued by the complexities of a country devastated by war, and located between Europe and the Arab world.
