Statement:
Born and raised in Cairo, along with rest of my generation I grew up in a unique situation of international turmoil. I believe the circumstances created an awareness, which has left a great influence on me and on my work. I spent five years at the University of the Fine Arts studying mural painting.

My design mural has remained a very important part of my way of thinking and creating. Part of this shift in practice comes from the three years spent in some companies doing designer at market. After three years of studying and working in market, my focus is on developing my artistic practice.

My work for the seven years has been inspired by the everyday objects, routines, events and experiences and their relationship to the larger social context. While drawing inspiration from the context in which I live in my murals is equally informed by theoretical discussions of our time. The kind of creating my murals has built on is a concept to Islamic Arts with vision of contemporary by tools and concept today, Visual and Aesthetic present-day Experience , through attempt in making the ordinary something extraordinary by representing that which is interwoven and concealed in our daily life. Through my work I intend to understand the inner workings of a social system by viewing, taking apart and then putting back and representing the elements of that system. This often involves dissecting the dense, multi layered nature of the everyday and presenting it detached and isolate from its original context.

In recent murals, I'm pursuing to role of the Arab - in developing contemporary Visual Arts, it focus on issues of national and transnational identity, opening up the programme to an increasingly wider range of interests, including marble, glass, ceramic, smalti & sculpture.
