The Al Madad Foundation, a charitable institution registered in the UK in 2001 and Dubai in 2007. The Foundation is committed to increased inter-cultural awareness to help alleviate problems of poverty and exclusion.

Art Dubai
Art Dubai has become a cornerstone of the Middle East's booming contemporary art community. The 2009 fair hosted nearly seventy leading international galleries.

WHAT IS START?
START is an art programme enabling children in need to enjoy creating their own art.
The art programme is taught by practicing arts professionals who volunteer with START.
START is guided by the UN rights of the child that state all children have a right to creativity and self-expression.
WHO DOES THE PROGRAMME CURRENTLY HELP?
Young people with special needs, working children, orphans and refugees are the recipients of START art workshops.
HOW DOES START WORK?
By organising drawing, painting, photography and design workshops, gallery tours and exhibitions, START delivers practical arts education and enriches the lives of young people who need skills that they can be proud of.
FIVE KEY PROJECTS 2007-09
Since its launch START has generated over fifty projects in Lebanon, Jordan and the UAE to enable 2,000 children to access the visual arts.
